Resumen

Como profesionales de centros de escritura, tutores y estudiantes que trabajamos en escuelas, colegios y universidades canadienses, contribuimos a un sistema educativo colonial imbuido de racismo sistémico y supremacía blanca. La escritura académica y el idioma inglés históricamente han sido —y continúan siendo— utilizados para oprimir y excluir a personas negras, marrones, indígenas, racializadas, queer, trans, pobres y discapacitadas. Al mismo tiempo, la escritura y el lenguaje pueden ser —y están siendo— aprovechados para fines y medios antiopresivos. ¿Cómo podemos, trabajando desde y dentro de nuestros respectivos contextos de centros de escritura, utilizar nuestro compromiso en esta conversación crítica sobre la escritura antirracista para crear un cambio liberador? ¿Cómo podemos participar en una abogacía significativa con el profesorado, administradores y otros actores clave para marcar la diferencia en la forma en que la escritura y el lenguaje son adoptados en las instituciones académicas?
